The Stock Market Rd 5

Welcome to the Stock Market, the ideal place to find Fantasy Rugby value. This article should give you insight into who to buy and who to drop to stay ahead of your Fantasy XV Draft competition. If you want to look like a genius despite only doing a fraction of the leg work, this is the place for you.

Blue Chips – Buy! Buy! Buy!

Vaea Fifita – Last week we suggested Jed Holloway was an obvious high value pick up, this week it’s another second rower in Vaea Fifita. Last year Fifita averaged 24.2pts a week, 6th for locks overall. He has a big running game, can play lock or in the loose forwards when needed (this might happen with the return to form of Mark Abbott & injury to Blade Thomson) and went from strength to strength last year. It might be his bye week, but wait another week, and he will be gone!

Francois Venter – The dynamic Cheetahs Centre was a beast last year averaging 36.23pts, the 4th centre overall. The Cheetahs are playing some good footy this year, and he could go even better this time round. After we got the exclusive last week that he would be back this week, Francois may have been snapped up quickly. If he is somehow still available, pick him up ASAP!

Buy Low, Sell High – Buy!

Short for outside backs like the rest of us this week? Luckily the tried and true tactic of picking up anyone playing the Kings and this week the Force, still works. If you’re looking for a short term fix to help you hold your blue chip injured outside backs then look no further than the Crusaders and Lions sides.Players like George Bridge, Digby Ioane, David Havilli if you’re lucky and Courtnall Skosan could all be worth big points this week!

Hold – Watch this space

Matt Todd – A walk up starter for the Crusaders, Todd has been the definition of consistency over the last two years. With a 30.9 average last year you could almost just pencil him in for 30 every week. This bloke will not be a world beater, but if you need a solid scorer to plug a whole, he’s your man.

Israel Folau – It isn’t time to throw the bath out with the bathwater just yet. Izzy has been far from his try scoring best, but even playing at 50% he has had a few big rounds. This week Gibson has returned him to his favourite position, Full Back. Fingers crossed we see the form that made him the most dangerous runner in the world a few years ago.

Busts – Avoid these before the market crashes and sell!

My Busts for this week are the Stormers backs, I know they’re playing the Sunwolves, but I think they might be pushed a lot harder than we think. Last year the Sunwolves pushed the Stormers all the way, add to this that they are resting Etzebeth, PS Du Toit and Malherbe and this could be a really tight matchup. I’d say avoid Dillyn Leyds, Bjorn Basson (hopefully this one isn’t news to you) and whoever else makes up their injury hit backline like SANZAR avoid making a decision!

See you next week for more on the Stock Market. Good luck for Round 5!
